Vocal Query Interface
Vocal Query Interface is a peculiar speech recognizing product of ALL, which enables manually directed electronic systems to be controlled by voice-initiated commands (words and phrases). The possible inputs of the system are constrained to the entries (words and phrases) of a predefined but interchangeable pronunciation dictionary. Taking the spoken input, the vocal query interface performs an acoustic level recognition to identify what was pronounced and outputs the most likely corresponding entry (word or phrase) of the dictionary.
Typical application areas of Vocal Query Interface might be a Building Management System operating at intelligent houses, the borrowing system of a digital library that enables blind or hand-impaired people to use the library services, etc.
At present the software is working in English and Hungarian, but its adaptation for other languages can be done in a straightforward manner.
